There are several advantages to booking a personal photoshoot for your graduation as opposed to going with the traditional school-provided option. Although we don’t offer a grad-specific package, you can always book any of the packages based on your needs (feel free to even combine styles like portrait + grad, or business + grad!)

The most obvious difference if you book your shoot with us would be the luxury of time. You are capturing an unforgettable moment in your life—so why wouldn’t you take your time? The disadvantage of school photographers is that they tend to speed through the shoot due to a queue of students waiting. Rushed headshots may end up feeling more clinical than personal.

Want to try a couple of shots with your friends or family? Or even one without the gown and cap? No problem! We always encourage outfit changes as long as time permits. Basic grad gown/cap rental available for an additional fee.

Take time to celebrate your big day by booking a private graduation photoshoot session ! Grad portraits can either be shot against our simple studio backgrounds, outdoors, or against one of our beautiful hand painted canvases for a little character (shown above).

Come with your own gown and cap, or borrow one of ours for an additional $25 (available in: shimmery blue, shimmery dark blue, shimmery black, and matte black). Although we don’t currently offer a graduation package, feel free to book whichever option suits you best.

With no restriction on the type of looks you can try, mix and match casual shots with your graduation photos, or even include your family in some of the shots !

Getting your headshot can be overwhelming. Just thinking about how to do your makeup, hair, and pocking the right wardrobe is enough to make anyone’s head spin! In other words, those little details seem easy to skip, easy to think that no one will pay attention to things that much. Overall it makes the image look tidy and put together, whether we realize is due to the accessories completing it or not. To add a twist to your business portrait, these days we’ve been experimenting with cropping the final edited images more, giving you multiple variations to choose from. This crop is usually what we do for acting portraits to accentuate the face place asymmetrically framing it. Although it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you are more of a traditionalist,, we do believe it livens the photo and is a worthy option to have in case you end up needing the image to sway slightly more casual and approachable. This may be a weird thing to bring to light, but once you do you won’t be able to unsee it. We’ve noticed that in almost every corporate female portrait, the woman’s hair is worn down. Sarah on the other hand, with her beautiful wavy hair and mini fringe, showed us how to pull off the business pony. To be honest, we think she is rocking it and couldn’t imagine a stronger way she could present herself. With just the right touch of accessories, the look beams an energetic, smart and savvy vibe.

The important thing to remember is although there are certain rules of thumb, there are always ways you can break the standard. Our advice? The ones who go against the grain tend to make stronger portraits.

If any of you use instagram, you may have noticed this function to add colour to the shadows and highlights of your image. When in doubt, go for our light grey. We swear by it no matter what skin tone and no matter what colour suit you are wearing. Whether female or male, the light grey is the best neutral you could hope for. In packages above the Minimal, we offer the option of changing your background colour more than once for your variation. That’s why we say start off safe and add onto the shoot as you go along.
