Henri-Lee is a busy professional and had to get her LinkedIn photo updated as well as update her Canadian Citizenship card, and Canadian Passport. Luckily she was able to kill three birds with one stone, and get all her chores done in one place. Here's her LinkedIn headshot which we also shot on a white background similar to a passport photo. The trick was instead of blowing out the background, we only lit the subject so that they appear softer against the background with less contrast.

Juan wanted a professional portrait to commemorate his birthday this year. He added on styling services for 2 looks, whereby we curated some options that fit the theme he requested. Shooting on a warm beige background that is complementary to his skin tone, the first outfit was a crisp white lacoste shirt that popped against a navy dress pant. It always helps to bring along your accessories such as rings, bracelets, or watch, as we find it adds that personal touch making literally look more like you.

Sanja popped in the other day for a quick update for her LinkedIn portrait. We love how she avoided the typical black and white combination. by opting for a pastel colour shirt and a medium pale blue jacket. In a way. avoiding harsh contrast can be seen as considerate to the viewers first impression by feeling soft on the eyes.

Fashion Designer Lookbook

Throwback to a funky summer themed lookbook we shot in the wintertime in the studio.
Amna is a Pakistani designer who was preparing for her spring/summer 2018 collection launch.
With about 20 different dresses to capture, we aimed to create as much variation as possible so that she could use the photos overtime on her social media. She was only in town for a few weeks, so we were fortunate enough to have had the chance to work with such professional and talented young lady. I could say the same for her, as she had originally contacted us in a panic having had another photographer cancel their shoot last minute!

All the best of success back home Amna!

For this business portrait we sattled up our gear and headed out west for an on location shoot nearby Maja’s neighborhood. We thought the cool brick was a simple and contrasting background against her pink shirt and warm toned skin. Though it was a little bright we managed to find a shady spot to set up in.

Thomas was in need of a headshot for his LinkedIn profile picture. Currently he had no image, and wanted you make a good first impression with on future clients online. He chose a facing forward shot, but unlike passport, didn't keep his head straight on so it felt more natural despite his body position.

Here's a recent fashion portrait we shot on a squeaky clean white backdrop. Lighting the subject form the back,, we added depth and intrigue to the image with lighting set up behind her to emphasize her cheekbones. Wearing just a tube top, we were able to create a fresh and clean silhouette reminiscent of beauty campaigns. This is a great lighting set up for commercial gigs for beauty or jewellery lines.
We can accommodate many lighting styles. Feel free to pass along any images via email that depicts what you had in mind.

Throwback to our experimental phase whereby we tried every colour under the sun, all in effort to learn which were suitable depending on the intention set. Purple was an interesting avenue for us to explore as we had the initial suspicion that it wasn't useful as a background option. As it turns out, our suspicions about purple were correct to some degree. Cooler toned shades will always appear colder at first impression than warmer shades! So simply put, if we want to shoot against purple, we can, and it will look great provided that we consider the tint of the colour is favouring warmth.
