Throwback Thursday! We still love this photo that depicts the sweet Marie-Louise and Johannes with their beloved only child Kara. We love how the two of them styled themselves in a classic matchy matchy outfit, the blended perfectly with their European decor which exemplified a similar colour scheme. Still the best behaved dog we've ever shot, Kara's focus was amazing. As soon as we hit the focus button, she would bring her attention right the camera as if she knew the drill!

Gabe had a unique style that was anything but black and white. We prepared this deep grey colour that had the slightest hint of character to it. Laid back modern trousers and casual knit paired nicely with his vintage fitted blazer in a classic checkered pattern. He also had the perfect summer tan which added warmth to the photo. Believe it or not, but skin this colour, whether real or applied in photoshop, is a little trick photographers use to make portraits more appealing, since people appear healthier with a tan and therefore more attractive.

We had the pleasure of shooting with the gentle Anna-sophie in a portrait session the other day. These days we are playing with the colour scheme of the background to match the clothing to harmonize the colours more. We do custom coloured backgrounds like the shade you see above. Ben is a managing director who wanted to retake his business headshot. The photographer who took his current headshot, overdid the retouching and he felt it didn't represent how he looked in real life. He didn't mind it when it was viewed as a thumbnail size, but it certainly wasn't the best choice for his company's website. This was our best shot from the session, capturing a natural smile that occurred when we busted out some jokes to make him laugh.

We had the lovely Natalie join us for a studio portrait session. She had a golden tan that we emphasized in post production, as well as with a creamy beige background. Pairing it with a deep blue tank made he warm and cool tones contrast in a clean and crisp way. A little gust of wind made for a subtly organic accent. 

LinkedIn Portrait

Domenic was looking to get a headshot for his website and to update his LinkedIn page. 
He debated back and forth on whether or not he should add grooming services to his package. In the end, he decided against it after we mentioned that we would take care of blemishes in post production.

In Domenic's case, since he was only concerned about a couple problem spots, it was an easy fix in photoshop. Although it's true that we do retouching on every photo, which includes taking care of redness or acne on the skin, we can't deny that it is a useful upgrade that helps people feel confident and camera ready. Melanie is a green health and beauty lover who we took this lovely portrait of in our studio against our soft textured background. An aesthetician based in Toronto, she is passionate about educating others with her organic wisdom. We assisted in the fashion styling for this particular shoot, and picked lots of soft pink and lighter toned pieces to keep everything in the mood for summer. This particular outfit looked suited our textured background so well as it was the cleanest and most approachable with no distracting designs.  All the best with your business Melanie, it was a pleasure working with such a beautiful person inside and out!
