Sarah wanted to plan a surprise for her son's 17th birthday. He was interested in the film industry and wanted to get some professional portfolio shots he could use to submit for acting and commercial gigs. Since he was still fairly young and looking to apply for teenage roles, he wanted a look that was both casual with a pinch of formal.

We had the opportunity to have a session with a young ambitious dancer the other day, who was looking to get an evocative personal portrait. One noticeable difference from a regular portrait, was that she was aware of her hand positioning and body shape all throughout. It was interesting to see the skills she learned from dancing come through.
For this session, we used our wooden set as the background, which was painted blue for this particular subject. If you'd like to enhance your portrait package, we suggest upgrading to a custom paint option which allows you to select from 1,500 colours online.
Fashion Portfolio Photoshoot
Mikaela is interested in becoming a fashion model. Since this was her very first shoot, she decided to book the Exclusive Fashion Package, which gave her plenty of time to warm up to the strange new experience. She guided us with reference images prior to the session, describing the type of styling she'd like done to her hair, makeup, and wardrobe. In the end, a monochromatic colour scheme was selected for her, with a bold primary toned accent in one of the 3 outfits provided.
It's recommended to all our clients that they show us reference or inspiration photos prior to the session, and/or additional references on the day of. Regardless of the style you're going for, it's always wise to be as descriptive as possible with our photographer so that we can most accurately tailor our style towards your vision.

Parshan is interested in getting a couple photos as a base for his modelling portfolio. Since it was his first photoshoot, he had no idea what to expect. We've shot with many models on their first shoots before, so we know what poses are comfortable to guide and what works. Style wise we chose a "Classic" look, pairing a sharp blazer with a simple black v-neck.
Let us know what type of a look you're going for, or have us forward you style inspiration. Reference images are always welcome in our eyes!

Professional Fashion Portrait
The other day we had a portrait session in our studio with Noah. Though still in his teens, he was passionate about becoming a model, and jumped at the opportunity to test the waters in our session. We chose a moodier lighting setup for Noah since the contrast of the black shadows adds drama to the image.
Professional Corporate Headshots
Abby works for an insurance company and wanted several options of a portrait she could have to represent herself professionally. She was enthusiastic in bringing several wardrobe changes ranging from colourful blouses to a more formal black and white attire. Abby was very comfortable in front of the camera and brought with her a beaming smile in every shot.
To many smiling comes very easy, but in the inorganic photoshoot scenario, it's inevitable that your face muscles will get tired (especially after an hour long session). To prevent a stale expression, we take several rounds and monitor how things are looking throughout the shoot. If we notice your expression is getting a bit lost amongst all the flashing lights, we'll simply tell you to reset, or take a quick break to look over the photos from the previous round.
