Welcome our latest backdrop addition—nutmeg! Not just a spicy addition to your winter drinks, nutmeg has a nice warm and darker base than our ever so popular beige. Highly recommended for portrait, fashion, or just something a little different for whatever your need. We recommend going wit ha neutral colour palette when shooting against it and avoiding busy patterns and too much colour.
Portrait and Headshot Photography
The summer has been great to Toronto this year (ignoring all the random storms of course), and we've taken it our liberty to encourage as many shoots outside while we're still in the warmer weather. Here's a more textured brick background we shot a portrait session at the other week. The objects in the background add dimension and interest to an otherwise simple shot. Let us know if you have any questions about shooting outdoors in your photoshoot!
Professional Acting Headshots
Dennis is new to the world of acting, already haven taken some workshops, he was ready for the next step! He book our most popular package, the Standard, and brought in 3 outfit changes aiming to get one photo per look.
Professional Business Headshots
Mary needed one quick photo for her LinkedIn page. She wanted to wear a shirt that had a conservative silhouette, yet still embodied her personality with vivid colours. It's not always the easiest to do as it is often distracting, but in Mary's case, her warm hair colour complemented the tones in her hair perfectly, and framed her face nicely.
Professional Portrait and Headshots
Anthony was looking to get into acting and modelling and just got signed with an agency. We had the pleasure of taking photos of him in his very first photoshoot. We chose modern casual garments with a bit of bite to them. We tried a variety of poses with different chairs, and later headed outside for a couple shots to add background variety. He was very polite and always minded the clothing whenever he sat on something outside as to not get it dirty. We wish you all the best of luck in the future!
Professional Corporate / Business Headshots
Sanja popped in the other day for a quick update for her LinkedIn portrait. We love how she avoided the typical black and white combination. by opting for a pastel colour shirt and a medium pale blue jacket. In a way. avoiding harsh contrast can be seen as considerate to the viewers first impression by feeling soft on the eyes.
Fashion Designer Lookbook
Throwback to a funky summer themed lookbook we shot in the wintertime in the studio.
Amna is a Pakistani designer who was preparing for her spring/summer 2018 collection launch.
With about 20 different dresses to capture, we aimed to create as much variation as possible so that she could use the photos overtime on her social media. She was only in town for a few weeks, so we were fortunate enough to have had the chance to work with such professional and talented young lady. I could say the same for her, as she had originally contacted us in a panic having had another photographer cancel their shoot last minute!
All the best of success back home Amna!
Professional Fashion Portrait
Here's a recent fashion portrait we shot on a squeaky clean white backdrop. Lighting the subject form the back,, we added depth and intrigue to the image with lighting set up behind her to emphasize her cheekbones. Wearing just a tube top, we were able to create a fresh and clean silhouette reminiscent of beauty campaigns. This is a great lighting set up for commercial gigs for beauty or jewellery lines.
We can accommodate many lighting styles. Feel free to pass along any images via email that depicts what you had in mind.
