Michael was looking to get a clean and professional photo of himself to be updated on his LinkedIn profile. We like how he prepared a dark blue suit for this session, since subtlety is a key factor in a strong image (not to mention blue is the friendliest colour around!). This session was a little trickier since he wore glasses throughout, however we managed to find an angle that worked for both of us which would give no flare on the lens.
Graduation Portrait
We had the pleasure of shooting Chris the other week, a recent high school graduate whose parents were looking to get a professional portrait done of him. Though he already had his traditional graduation picture taken, they thought it would be neat to get a modernized polished portrait that would serve as an additional memento of this time in his life.
For portrait sessions, we recommend choosing a textured background which adds a little more intrigue and emotional content in the photo. Our light textured grey is neutral enough to go with any skin tone and and light enough to have colours pop against it.
Professional Portrait Photography
Trent is a young and enthusiastic student who was looking to get sharp photos that he could use for personal and professional use. Trent is interested in applying to be a commercial model, but at the same time wanted photos that were neutral enough to double as a portrait. The silver blazer we selected for him was perfect to convey the smart casual style he was aiming for, and the textured grey background had just the right amount of intrigue to liven the photo.
Professional Acting Headshot
Olivia was interested in getting into the film industry and wanted to start putting together a portfolio that she could submit for auditions. She already had experience working as a background worker, but decided to change directions and try her hand in acting.
Olivia's headshots were taken against our studio background, which gets painted a different colour weekly. You always have the option of taking a couple shots without the provided backdrops (white, grey, charcoal, blue green), should you find our current set colour suitable.
Fashion Modelling Photoshoot
Genevieve had some experience modelling in the past, but was recently coming off a break and needed a refresher for her portfolio. She wanted her styling to be more commercial as she already had plenty of high fashion editorial looks in her book. She got the Exclusive Fashion Package which gave her 3 outfits prepared by a fashion stylist, professional hair and makeup service, and tips and guidance from the photographer throughout the session.
Looking for a particular style or look to your image? Let us know what you have in mind by sending us reference photos of hair, makeup, and fashion you like, and we'll do our best to suit your taste. Don't have any photos to share? Not a problem, we have experience interpreting themes and will style the shoot the best way that works.
Business Portrait
Amit is a new hire at a firm, and his director contacted us to arrange to have his portrait taken for the company site. They intended on cropping the image and turning it into black and white with their own software so that their gallery looked consistent. We delivered their final image with a loose crop and in full colour so that they have the most flexibility when making adjustments later.
We always suggest getting your photo in colour initially, but if you'd like a black & white option, we can certainly make that edit for the photo(s) of your choice. Please note that black & white images need to be re edited from the start and would be priced at the standard extra photo cost ($20 + HST).
Corporate Portrait
Ana is a Space Scientist who was required to get a headshot for her company's website. They were revamping their web presence and decided to add some life to the "about us" page and add employee portraits. We analyzed Ana's favourite angles after a preliminary round of shooting, and narrowed down to the best way to get the shot she's looking for.
Everyone is different. Some know what their favourite side of their face is, while others have no idea when it comes to analyzing their expression, You can always ask our opinion anytime and we'll let you know which angle and style most suits the image you're going for.
Professional Business Headshots
Kelley was starting a new job and needed a portrait for the company website. Their company needed their employees to wear red int e photo, and required a warm toned style of editing in order to match with the other staff photos on their website. Although every camera is different and it's not always possible to match the editing style exactly, we will certainly do our best to create images with the style you have in mind.
