Musician Portrait
Michael is a local DJ who is working on putting his first EP together. He needed a photo in a square format to be used for his album cover. We happened to have our set painted a moody deep blue which was leftover from a previous session. His music incorporates electronic and jazz together, so we were lucky it happened to be the perfect shade of blue to represent his music style. Looking forward to hearing your tracks once everything is all finished!
Product Promotional Photo
Ron is a CEO launching his international company here in Toronto. He needed some photos of him holding their tablet to use as promotional material for their release. Since the tablet's display was not bright enough to translate well onto the camera, we had to add the graphics on manually in photoshop! All the best with your new business endeavours Ron!
On Location Portrait
Meganne is interested in acting and as well as alternative modelling (she has lots of tattoos believe it or not!) so she wanted a portrait that was styled with a bit of a punky feminine edge. This romper suited her perfectly with a relaxed fit on the top and tighter fitting lower half. A little bit of soft light crept through the side of the building and was able to cast a golden hue on her skin.
LinkedIn Portrait
Ross needed a couple variations of a simple portrait for work. He expected to be using his portrait online on LinkedIn, as well as on his personal website and marketing materials. He brought in several suit options and with his 40 minutes of shooting time, we were able to try them all out. He ended up picking photos in each different outfit. All the best with your business endeavours Ross!
Corporate headshot
Ken suited our soft white background perfectly with his warm toned shirt and matching tie, all that is left for the cherry on top is a glowing smile. His photo radiates positivity and friendliness, however I distinctively remember him laughing at himself at this point (with us egging him on)! Turns out natural smiles are the best and this definitely shows it.
Acting headshot
Ricardo is an actor who got signed with a new agent and wanted to get some updated headshots. To cover a variety of looks, he prepared a few pieces to change it up such as a leather jacket, simple shirts, and a sporty jacket. We love how we golden the light was in this portrait, it warms up an otherwise bland white brick wall. Since Ricardo wanted to shoot in the evening, we timed the shoot to be around sunset time in order to achieve this effect.
Fashion portrait
Kelly used to be a model with Sutherland when she was younger, and decided to get back into it many years later. She was pretty comfortable in front of the camera already, but welcomed our posing guidance. She gave us very specific directions as to what type of clothing we should prepare (which we loved since it helped us plan her outfits to the tee!). To our surprise, she liked the clothing so much she ended up buying two of the pieces off of us.
Professional author headshot
Selwyn is an author who is coming out with a new novel to be published in print and online. He needed a variety of photos for his profile photo that ranged from more formal to more semi-casual. To be sure, we encouraged him to bring in as many wardrobe options as he'd like, and we would narrow them down on the spot.
Time-allowed, you can make up to as many wardrobe changes as you'd like. It's easy to tell if it's working or not after seeing it on our large screen monitor, which automatically synchronizes with your photoshoot to provide realtime results.
