We met Rene and his family the other day, who made the trek from all different ends of the city to get their portrait taken. It was something that Rene had wanted to do for a while, so they were happy to have found a day that worked with everyone's busy schedule. They ended up ordered large sized prints of a few of the photos, so we made sure to take extra care in the editing process, so there would be no distracting bits of dust and hair visible when enlarged.
Fashion Portrait Photoshoot
Throwback to a fashion phoshow shoot wherewe did encorporated cool army green tones and a bright blue eyeshadow to draw your eye in. The texture on the jacket really crisped up when we used a contrast lifting setup, which added for a nice character.
Male Portrait Photoshoot
We used our analytical colour skills when pulling this outfit together from start to finish (including adding a touch of green to the shadows in post production!). Colour contains pure emotional content, which his why for fashion portraits we hardly use it unintentionally. We love this rich shade of blue that had a slight sheen to it making for some contrasty shadows.
Studio Portrait Photoshoot
We love this crisp and contrasty lighting setup for sessions with women looking for all the flawlessness well lit skin gives you, with an edgy thick shadow created by bouncing black foam core. She did the infamous subtle squint in this shot which is why it was one of our favourites from the session! Since she didn't have much experience, the posing was difficult for her, as it is with most people, so nailing the facial expression was key!
